There are plenty of Nashville thrift stores to choose from. The key is knowing how to pick the best ones. Lucky for you, I have just the list.
Here’s what I love about thrifting: it’s sustainable, easy on the budget, and a fun way to see a city. So when you inevitably find yourself in good ole Nashville Tennessee, be sure to stop by these stupendous, curated, and friendly Nashville thrift stores.
1. Anaconda Vintage
Address: 4100 William Turner Pkwy, Nashville, TN 37013
Hours: Open every day 11 am – 7 pm
Anaconda Vintage has a great selection of vintage clothing from the 50s – 70s with a healthy selection of jeans, sweatshirts, and t-shirts from the 90s. The prices ranged from $20 – $100. The shop included a selection of men’s and women’s items, handbags, shoes, and accessories.
As an added bonus, Anaconda Vintage always has a couple of sales racks outside with items between $5 – $10. Plus, Anaconda is right across the driveway from the Living Water Brewery and coffee house.
And can I just say, Anaconda had the best playlist. The songs were just as curated as the clothing. I think I spent just as much time Shazaming songs as I did shopping. She is my #1 recommended Nashville thrift store.
2. Hip Zipper
Address: 1008 Forrest Ave # A, Nashville, TN 37206
Hours: Open every day 11 am – 7 pm
Hip Zipper really leans into the 50s to 70s eras with their clothing selection. You’ll find dresses, skirts, and purses. Jewelry and even a nice selection of shoes. Hip Zipper even has a corner of menswear and a healthy mix of sweaters.
The prices are average for a vintage store. Most items ranged from $20 – $75. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. The owner is very dedicated to sourcing great vintage finds for her customers.
3. Star Struck Vintage
Located: 604 Gallatin Ave #100, Nashville, TN 37206
Hours: 11 am – 6 pm, Tue. – Sat. Closed Sunday and Monday.
One of East Nashville’s most beloved shops, Star Struck Vintage runs a colorful shop of curated vintage pieces at a decent price. I was, unfortunately, unable to visit this shop during my visit, but based on customer reviews, Star Struck isn’t overly pricey and the selection is well-stocked.
4. Black Shag Vintage
Address: 1220 Gallatin Ave, Nashville, TN 37206.
Hours: Monday – Sat 11 am – 7 pm, Sun. 12 pm – 5 pm,
Black Shag was extremely expensive across the board. To be fair, a lot of the dresses and jackets were in excellent condition and demanded that price tag in a way. Some of the t-shirts and jeans were not in the same condition however and were overpriced for what they were.
I included the picture below as an example. I picked up this 70s leather jacket thinking I could flip it before I realized it was actually listed for $1,100 and not $100.
5. Starland Vintage & Unusual
Address: 2110 8th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204
Hours: Mon. – Sat. 11 am – 6 pm, Sun 11 am – 5 pm
As the title hints, this shop is a mixture of vintage and unusual items. Translation, this Nashville thrift store has just as many furbies and “vintage” beanie babies as it does clothing. You can also expect to find a nice selection of vintage furniture and glassware.
6. East Nashville Antiques
Address: 3407 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN 37216
Hours: 10 am – 6 pm Mon. – Sat, 12 – 5 pm Sun.
If you’re looking for some antique items to spruce up your space, East Nashville Antiques is an excellent stop. The store includes a ton of different booths with an eclectic mix of antique home items and decor. There’s also a selection of clothing items such as vintage jackets and jeans.
7. Throwback Thursday
Address: 2721 8th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204
Hours: Mon. – Sat. 11 am – 7 pm, closed on Sunday
Throwback Thursday is a fan favorite in Nashville. Located closer to the 12 South area of Nashville vs. East Nashville like many of the other shops listed, Throwback boasts a 5 Star rating on Google with over 200 reviews! And that’s saying something.
The shop curates t-shirts, jackets, and plenty of vintage shoes. There’s a love for basketball felt throughout the store and plenty of vintage Nike shoes to go with it. If Tommy Hilfiger and basketball jerseys are your things, I’d recommend stopping in.
8. Old Made Good
Address: 3701B Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN 37216
Hours: Closed on Tuesdays and open 12 pm – 5 pm the rest of the week.
Old Made Good sets itself apart with a large wooden “OMG” sign and a yellow arrow pointing to the front door of the thrift shop. As the shop name hints, Old Made Good incorporates a mixture of vintage and thrifty items, some of which have been revamped with a modern twist. For instance, you’ll find a print of an old realism painting with an overlay of block letters that read ‘Practice Reckless Optimism’. Clothing and home decor items are other top offerings.
9. Buffalo Exchange
Address: 2214 Elliston Pl, Nashville, TN 37203
Hours: Open every day 11 am – 8 pm
Buffalo Exchange is a chain consignment store. She offers a range of excellent and good-condition clothing items. Locals bring in gently used clothes to exchange for money or store credit. Of all the Nashville thrift stores on the list, this shop is the most like a thrift store compared to the others, which I would say falls in the vintage shop realm. I have visited the New Orleans location before and really enjoyed the shopping excursion.
